Job summary

Central Moloney is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design and optimize mechanical components for distribution transformers. You will work on tank assemblies, cooling, and frame features, applying sheet-metal design and welded fabrication expertise.

You’ll calculate strength, thermal performance, tolerances, and layout the bushing locations while using CAD tools like AutoCAD or Solid Edge. Collaboration with manufacturing, QA, and testing is essential for robust product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
• Hands-on experience with sheet-metal design and welded fabrication.
• Proficiency with CAD tools for mechanical design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for transformers including tank, core-coil frame assemblies, cooling systems, and handling features.
• Perform structural and thermal calculations and tolerance stackups.
• Review drawings, BOMs and 3D CAD models for manufacturing.
• Support design reviews and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing and QA.
