Job summary

RCT Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Power Systems Division to lead 3D electronics packaging and thermal system design for high-performance power electronics. You will build and test complex converters, perform structural and thermal analysis, and mentor junior engineers within a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering required; graduate work acceptable in lieu of some work experience.
• U.S. citizenship or pre-authorized DoD clearance required; ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• Experience in 3D electronics packaging, thermal system design, and hardware build/test is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Package complex power converters, energy storage systems, and PLC systems.
• Design thermal management systems for power electronics.
• Perform structural analysis for components and ruggedized enclosures; use FEA, CFD, and hand calculations.
• Create, review, and issue prototype and production drawings per GD&T standards.
• Source vendors and procure custom parts; lead cross-functional teams.
• Prepare technical presentations and design reviews for customers; mentor junior engineers.
