Job summary

Falcata in Huntsville, AL seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to support the PES team. You will design mechanisms, create 3D CAD models and drawings, generate BOMs, and assist in integrating electronics with mechanical platforms.

Preferred candidates hold a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 0–2 years of experience, and are proficient in SolidWorks. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 0–2 years of experience for Bachelors or MSc.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D CAD, parts, assemblies, and drawings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, tolerances.
• Ability to read and create technical drawings and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and CAD modeling of mechanical housings, enclosures, brackets, and adapters.
• Create 3D models and engineering drawings; generate BOMs.
• Support procurement of prototype parts and assemblies.
• Apply basic DFM and tolerance considerations with guidance from senior engineers.
• Collaborate with electrical/RF engineers to optimize size, weight, and form factor.
• Assist in integrating Falcata electronics into platforms and coordinate with vendors for prototyping.
