Job summary

JGMS Government Services LLC is seeking a mechanical engineer to lead test programs for repair technologies, both in-lab and under subcontracted development efforts. The role is on-site for a three-year contract, with opportunities to expand technical scope through diverse repair methods.

The candidate should have a strong background in mechanical engineering, test execution, and CAD, and be prepared for travel to vendor sites and shipyards as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 2+ years.
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and engineering standards.
• Plan and execute test programs, analyze results, and assist with technical reports.
• Digital design/CAD skills; familiarity with data acquisition hardware/software.
• Lead/execute laboratory operations in a productive, timely, compliant manner.

Responsibilities

• Plan, follow, and execute work efforts, and produce technical designs, instructions, and procedures.
• Draft, place, follow, and report subcontracted repair method development/demonstration contracts.
• Travel to vendors and shipyards to support project planning, equipment testing, and repair deployment.
• Oversee repair efforts including epoxy/composite tech, machining processes, and arc welding.
