Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support its Armament Systems Business Unit based in Plymouth, MA. The role focuses on mechanical and production engineering for ammunition manufacture and test, coordinating with distributed locations and suppliers.

Responsibilities include translating contract requirements, creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, supporting build and test readiness, and collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Master’s degree may substitute for experience in some cases.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings including GD&T.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of remote collaboration.
• Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Translate contract requirements into build and test requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation for manufacturing programs (TDPs, changes, bills of materials).
• Develop manufacturing work instructions and routings; manage configuration data.
• Coordinate builds, readiness reviews, and test readiness activities.
• Support production and test, including disposition of non-conforming products.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing.
• Travel to production/test sites up to 25%.
