Job summary

AMF Bakery Systems is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and support bakery automation equipment, including current standard machines, custom and legacy products. The role includes BOM creation, field support, and on-site startup assistance with expected travel.

The ideal candidate has substantial machine design experience, strong documentation skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Significant machine/mechanism design experience.
• Ability to design and document pneumatic control systems.
• Experience with equipment manuals and bulletins.
• Experience with equipment and plant layout design.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools (Solid Edge/Solid Works/Inventor).
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical machine design for AMF Bakery Systems products.
• Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for machine designs.
• Provide remote and on-site field support for installations and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and support startups; travel ~25% of the time.
• Maintain and update technical documents and manuals.
• Assist product managers during project scoping and feature definition.
• Support sales with design solutions and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with groups to drive process improvements and product readiness.
