Job summary

Timken Power Systems, Philadelphia Gear brand, has a current opening for a Mechanical Engineer at the New Castle, DE regional service center responsible for all technical aspects that support the operations of the regional service center and acts as a technical liaison to the PG corporate engineering department.

This role requires 5 years industrial engineering or manufacturing experience, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and proficiency with SolidWorks and LabVIEW.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar field.
  • Minimum 5 years in industrial engineering or manufacturing.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and LabVIEW preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of customer’s specifications for repair and upgrade of equipment and implementation of requirements.
  • Evaluate equipment sent in for repair, determine reuse viability, and develop rework/quality/test procedures.
  • Reverse engineering of non-PG components with understanding of critical tolerances.
  • Develop detailed CAD drawings for unit upgrades.
  • Lead technical repair/new build on projects and manage timelines.
  • Failure analysis and technical reports for customers.
  • Coordinate engineering and manufacturing activities at vendor facilities.
  • Assist in field sales with technical presentations to customers.
  • Assist in testing customer equipment using data acquisition tools.
  • Assist in technical training of shop personnel.
  • Maintain & support ISO certification and quality system.
  • Oversee resolution of field service problems.
