Job summary
The Timken Company in New Castle, DE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support regional service center operations, evaluating customer specifications, repairing/upgrading equipment, and leading technical repair projects. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial engineering or manufacturing, proficiency with SolidWorks and LabVIEW, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
US citizenship or work authorization under ITAR is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college.
- 5+ years industrial engineering or manufacturing experience.
- Experience with SolidWorks and LabVIEW preferred.
- US citizenship or work authorization in ITAR environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer specifications for the repair and upgrade of equipment.
- Evaluate equipment for reuse and develop rework, quality, and test procedures.
- Reverse engineer non-PG components with understanding of critical tolerances.
- Develop CAD drawings for unit upgrades.
- Lead technical repair or new build projects to meet timelines.
- Perform failure analysis and prepare technical reports for customers.
- Coordinate engineering and manufacturing activities at vendor facilities.
- Assist field sales with technical presentations to customers.
- Assist in testing customer equipment using data acquisition instruments.
- Assist in technical training of shop personnel.
- Support ISO certification and quality systems.
- Oversee resolution of field service problems.
