Job summary

Timken Gears and Services - Philadelphia Gear is hiring a Design Engineer to design and analyze gear drive systems and components for industrial and marine applications. The role involves creating 3D models, performing internal calculations, and developing detailed drawings and BOMs to meet customer requirements under Engineering Manager supervision.

The candidate will interact with service centers and customers, provide technical support, and ensure compliance with engineering standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
Minimum of 5 years experience in design of mechanical drives.
U.S. work authorization required.

Responsibilities

Develop gear designs and drivetrains including assemblies, BOMs, parts lists and drawings per orders and standards.
Check drawings and designs for compliance with requirements and standards.
Coordinate with King of Prussia regional service center operations and QA on deviations and problem resolution.
Develop tools to improve engineering effectiveness and department performance.
Analyze gear drive components and rotating equipment to meet specs.
Select and analyze bearings, lubrication components, and instrumentation for gear drives.
Support customer service, sales, field service, and manufacturing as needed.
Analyze order content and customer specifications to ensure product satisfaction.
Travel up to 5%.
