Job summary

Timken Power Systems, Philadelphia Gear brand, has a current opening for a Mechanical Engineer at the New Castle, DE regional service center responsible for all technical aspects that support the operations of the regional service center and acts as a technical liaison to the PG corporate engineering department.

You will evaluate customer specifications for repairs and upgrades, determine material reuse, develop rework and test procedures, and lead technical repair or new build projects to meet

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of rotating equipment engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or design from an accredited college/university.
• US citizenship or legal work authorization in ITAR-regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer specifications for repair and upgrade of equipment.
• Evaluate equipment for repair; develop rework, quality, and test procedures.
• Reverse engineer non-PG components and understand critical tolerances.
• Develop CAD drawings for unit upgrades.
• Lead technical repair and new build projects to meet timelines.
• Coordinate engineering and manufacturing activities at vendor facilities.
• Assist in field sales with technical presentations.
• Assist in testing equipment using data acquisition instruments and software.
• Support ISO quality system and procedures.
• Oversee resolution of field service problems.
