Job summary

Socket.dev in Marietta, OH is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and improve power protection and power distribution equipment. You will work on CAD modeling, prototype development, and cross-functional engineering support from concept through production.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain mechanical designs, drawings, models, and other engineering documentation for new and existing products.
• Support the development of Switchboards, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and Power Panels.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and other teams to move designs from concept through production.
• Participate in design reviews and verification activities; provide technical input and make design changes as needed.
• Develop and release mechanical prototypes and work with fabrication teams during prototype builds.
• Evaluate prototype results and lead design improvements based on testing and fabrication feedback.
• Independently manage smaller engineering projects and coordinate the activities required to meet project objectives.
• Support product modifications, customization requests, ECNs, product life-cycle activities, and design optimization.
• Apply design-for-manufacturing principles to improve production readiness and product performance.
• Help ensure designs meet customer requirements, project specifications, and applicable industry standards.
