Job summary

Qualdoc in Marietta, OH seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to support power distribution and protection equipment development, testing, certification, and ongoing improvements.

The role focuses on electrical design, BOMs, schematics, component selection, and integration of third-party devices, with hands-on troubleshooting and documentation responsibilities. A BSEE and CAD experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree required.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software.
• Experience designing power distribution solutions such as PDU, STS, RPP, and switchboards.
• Proficiency with basic EE lab equipment: oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems at the product level, including component selection, thermal system design, mechanical packaging concepts, and interconnection hardware selection/design.
• Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, magnetics, and thermal engineering.
• Develop engineering and technical design specifications for power protection systems.
• Design switchboard power and control circuits.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs and schematics.
• Support the qualification and integration of third-party devices into power distribution equipment.
• Participate in hardware design reviews to evaluate product robustness and performance.
• Contribute to customer and manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and technical reports.
• Provide sustaining engineering support for both newly launched and legacy power protection systems.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems and subsystems.
• Support product safety certifications with NRTL organizations and applicable UL, CSA, and IEC standards.

Position Overview
