Job summary

Strativ Group in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Power Infrastructure to join as its first product moves toward commercial deployment at scale. You’ll design hands-on with high-power equipment and contribute across mechanical and electrical aspects in a lab setting.

You will tackle thermal, structural and packaging challenges, create drawings and BOMs with SolidWorks, and participate in CFD/FEA, prototyping and testing toward DFMEA and DVP&R.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience developing products such as switchgear, breakers, transfer switches, UPS or power-electronics equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Understanding NEC/UL requirements.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and system integration of high-power equipment.
• Address thermal, structural and packaging challenges.
• Create drawings, BOMs and specifications.
• Perform CFD/FEA, prototyping and testing.
• Contribute to DFMEA and DVP&R processes.
• Hands-on involvement from testing through to deployment.
• Work with both mechanical and electrical engineering.

Mechanical Engineer – Power Infrastructure

I’m working with a small technology business developing next-generation power infrastructure for large-scale data centers.

You’ll join as its first product moves towards commercial deployment at scale, working hands-on design with high-power equipment in their brand new Raleigh lab.

The role will cover:

• Mechanical design and system integration
• Thermal, structural and packaging challenges
• SolidWorks, drawings, BOMs and specifications
• CFD/FEA, prototyping, testing, DFMEA and DVP&R
• Startup-style autonomy and visibility, backed by a larger profitable group - plans to hire another 10 people
• An employee share plan

What you'll bring?
