Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Madison Power Generation team. You will support mechanical equipment sizing, piping layouts, and construction document development for power projects across utility, IPP, industrial, and municipal sectors.

Bachelor's in Engineering and a PE license are preferred, with prior Power Market project experience. Strong communication and mentoring skills, plus willingness to travel under 10% for site visits, are important in this

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
PE or P.Eng license is required.
Experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector is preferred.
Proficiency with Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit) and MS Office is expected.
Demonstrated commitment to employee-owned culture and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Size mechanical equipment and perform piping/layout considerations.
Develop construction documents (P&IDs, system layouts, drawings, specifications).
Review vendor/submittals and communicate with vendors/contractors.
Prepare technical reports and procurement specifications; conduct code reviews.
Perform site visits; assist in project planning and budgeting/scheduling.
Collaborate with engineers and designers across disciplines; mentor junior staff.
