Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Platte City, MO to design, test, and manufacture custom power generation equipment. You will work across Engineering, Production, and Fabrication to move concepts from idea to production.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, manufacturing collaboration, and continual improvement of mechanical systems. ABET-accredited degree and 3+ years’ experience required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree preferred or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience in product design or industrial equipment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and troubleshoot mechanical systems
• Experience working with manufacturing teams to support fabrication and assembly

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and assemblies used in industrial power generation equipment
• Create detailed drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation using CAD tools
• Perform calculations, validation, and analysis for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
• Lead and support product development initiatives from concept through production
• Collaborate with Production, Procurement, and Quality to ensure cost-effective, manufacturable designs
