Job summary

Corbin Consulting Engineers is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to join our Bend, Oregon office. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team on a range of mechanical and process systems for technology, industrial, and life sciences clients.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and at least 7 years at an A/E consulting firm, with PE license or soon-to-be license. Expect collaborative design reviews, extensive CAD work, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 7 years of experience at an A/E consulting firm.
• PE license or ability to obtain PE within six months of starting.
• Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical and process systems, from simple to complex, including HVAC, piping, and facility upgrades.
• Coordinate with design team members across disciplines and with clients.
• Participate in design reviews and present design strategies.
• Prepare P&ID drawings, specifications, sequences of operations, testing documents, and reports.
• Provide field support during construction, including site verification and RFIs.

Summary

We are seeking a senior mechanical engineer for our Bend office who will work with a competent multi-discipline team of peers with a wide range of experience levels. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new office serving industry leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design for mechanical and process systems ranging from simple to complex. Types of design can include mechanical facility upgrades for semiconductor manufacturing plants, process piping, exhaust, hydronic systems, facility HVAC, and tool installation packages.
• Coordination with design team members, both in mechanical/process and other disciplines.
• Participation in client design review meetings and presentation of design strategies.
• Preparation of P&ID drawings for various systems, construction specifications, sequence of operations, testing documents, and engineering reports.
• Services during construction, including field verification, site observation reports, responses to RFIs, and submittal reviews.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Understanding of basic building code requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
• Excellent technical writing ability.
• Highly organized.
• Must show ownership and follow-through on assigned projects.
• Interest in professional growth.
• Ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts, especially as they relate to engineering and construction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is a plus.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 7 years of experience working for an architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting firm.
• Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients is preferred.
• PE license, or ability to obtain PE registration within six months of starting.

Please identify any relevant skills you might have, such as AutoCAD or Revit, or mechanical system modeling software such as PIPE-FLO, Trane Trace, Autodesk CFD, or AutoPIPE. Please provide any past work or volunteer experience in your response, including those that may be non-engineering related.
