Job summary

Corbin Consulting Engineers seeks a senior chemical process engineer for our Bend, Oregon office to join a dynamic, employee-owned firm. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team on projects for world leaders in technology and industrial sectors, focusing on mechanical and process system design from simple to complex.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting firms.
  • Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients preferred.
  • PE license or ability to obtain PE registration within six months of starting.

Responsibilities

  • Design for mechanical and process systems ranging from simple to complex.
  • Coordinate with design team members across disciplines.
  • Participate in client design review meetings and present design strategies.
  • Prepare P&ID drawings, construction specs, sequences of operations, testing documents, and reports.
  • Provide field verification, site observation reports, responses to RFIs, and submittal reviews during construction.

Summary: We are seeking a senior chemical process engineer for our Bend office who will work with a competent multi-disciplinary team of peers with a wide range of experience levels. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new office serving industry leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design for mechanical and process systems ranging from simple to complex. Types of design can include mechanical facility upgrades for semiconductor manufacturing plants, process piping and exhaust, hydronic systems, facility HVAC, and tool installation packages.
  • Coordination with design team members, both in mechanical/process and other disciplines.
  • Participation in client design review meetings and presentation of design strategies.
  • Preparation of P&ID drawings for various systems, construction specifications, sequence of operations, testing documents, and engineering reports.
  • Services during construction, including field verification, site observation reports, responses to RFIs, and submittal reviews.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Understanding of basic building code requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Excellent technical writing ability.
  • Highly organized.
  • Must show ownership and follow-through on assigned projects.
  • Interest in professional growth.
  • Ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts, especially as they relate to engineering and construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 7 years of experience working for an architectural/engineering (A/E) consulting firm.
  • Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients is preferred.
  • PE license, or ability to obtain PE registration within six months of starting.

Please identify any relevant skills you might have, such as AutoCAD or Revit, or mechanical system modeling software such as PIPE-FLO, Trane Trace, Autodesk CFD, or AutoPIPE. Please provide any past work or volunteer experience in your response, including those that may be non-engineering related.
