Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Customer Terminals team and own terminal mechanical design. You will take a concept through prototype, qualification, and production for a family of consumer-grade terminals designed for high-volume manufacture and outdoor weather resistance.

You will work with in-house RF, antenna, ASIC, electrical, and thermal teams, define mechanical practices, standards, and supplier relationships for the program, and ensure design for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of mechanical design and development of production hardware.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools for detailed part and assembly modeling.
• Experience performing structural and thermal analysis using analytical or finite element methods.
• Experience designing enclosures or housings for outdoor, weather‑exposed environments.
• Knowledge of GD& T and ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with high‑volume manufacturing processes and materials.
• Experience taking a product from concept through qualification into volume production.
• Experience with PLM and configuration management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design for environmental survival including IP, sealing, corrosion resistance, UV stability, and impact resistance.
• Design mounting systems for roof, pole, and wall installations with proper load paths.
• Collaborate with thermal engineering on enclosure thermal design and solar load management.
• Drive design for manufacturability with contractors and tooling suppliers.
• Support qualification campaigns and correlate test results to analysis.
• Develop and maintain CAD models, drawings, and Bills of Materials in PLM.
• Contribute to serviceability, tamper resistance, and physical security considerations.
