Job summary

Blue Origin in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to define and lead the end-to-end architecture of our next‑generation satellite user terminal. You will own system‑level hardware design across RF antenna arrays, high‑speed digital processing, power systems, and mechanical integration.

You will drive the technical roadmap, weigh architectural trade‑offs, and guide a cross‑functional team to deliver a high‑performance, cost‑optimized product at scale.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years hardware engineering experience with 4+ years as Principal Architect or Lead Architect.
• Deep knowledge of phased arrays, digital beamforming, and RF front-ends.
• Experience delivering hardware for high-volume manufacturing with BOM trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end system hardware architecture for the user terminal.
• Evaluate and select core components (SoCs, transceivers, memory).
• Coordinate RF, Electrical, Mechanical, and Embedded Software teams to resolve interfaces.
• Define thermal dissipation and high-voltage power delivery strategies.
• Drive product lifecycle from architecture to mass manufacturing with CM partners.
