Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
- The Mechanical Engineer: IV is a senior professional industrial role within the Engineering function, supporting temp workforce needs for an LNG client.
- The role may support the Houston corporate office, the Beaumont office, and the LNG facility in Port Arthur, Texas, with site presence or travel based on business and operational needs.
- The individual operates with limited oversight and leads complex workstreams, provides technical or functional guidance, manages significant risks, and drives measurable improvements across locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the timely completion of the mechanical design for products and mechanical part/subassemblies, including sheet-metal, injection molded plastics, die casts, extrusions, wood, and fastener systems.
- Design, engineer and evaluate mechanical models related to LNG facility equipment and systems.
- Consult with suppliers and partners for the development of products.
- Liaison with the production team and sales force.
- Conduct design reviews, post production reviews, and design updates.
- Manage procurement of all mechanical prototype parts of development.
- Derive, generate, and maintain the mechanical bill of materials and assembly documentation for all products.
- Predict timelines for mechanical design tasks, and maintain the design schedule for timely delivery of product.
LNG OPERATING EXPECTATIONS:
- Work must be performed with a strong commitment to process safety, personal safety, environmental stewardship, operational reliability, permit-to-work requirements, management of change, and accurate documentation in a regulated LNG environment.
- The individual will collaborate with applicable teams such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and SSHE&R, as relevant to the assignment.
- Responsibilities include timely communication of risks and issues, adherence to client procedures and applicable requirements, protection of confidential information, and support for continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience for Level IV. Education, licenses, certifications, and technical qualifications should be appropriate for the Mechanical Engineer discipline and assignment. LNG, natural gas, petrochemical, pipeline, terminal, heavy industrial, or other regulated operating-environment experience is preferred when relevant.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, clear written and verbal communication, collaboration across office and site teams, attention to detail, and proficiency with the tools and systems required for the role.
