Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to plan and execute R&D projects for ANSI/IEEE MV switchgear and control-gear products. You will develop concepts, create 3D CAD models and BOMs, and work with cross-functional teams to meet performance and manufacturability requirements.

This role includes independent design work, data gathering, prototype testing, and providing documentation. Travel up to 10% may be required in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with ANSI/IEEE MV switchgear and related components.
• Strong drafting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review concepts and detailed designs for MV switchgear products.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings and BOMs with minimal supervision.
• Perform mechanical analysis of mechanisms, tolerances and kinematics.
• Develop accurate layout, detail and assembly drawings for production.
• Review work of Designers on design phases and ensure manufacturability.
• Support prototype building, testing and validation per standards.
