Job summary

Schneider Electric seeks an Electromechanical Design Engineer to sustain and enhance its Low Voltage Switchboard offering from a design and technical perspective. You will collaborate with North American manufacturing plants, quality, and customer support teams to evaluate design issues, approve deviations, and ensure that changes preserve safety, reliability, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Over 3 years of experience in usability testing and design of high-tech products to support end users.
• Product experience related to the design of Low Voltage Switchboard.
• Previous product development experience is preferred.
• Experience with CAD software to create component/assembly concepts and updates.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the existing Low Voltage Switchboard offer from a design perspective.
• Support manufacturing plants with design-related questions, issues, deviations, and product clarifications.
• Evaluate plant requests and determine potential impacts on product performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance.
• Support technical resolution of recurring issues in manufacturing, assembly, documentation, or product configuration.
• Ensure changes or deviations do not create unintended consequences for other plants, product variants, or customer applications.
