Timken is seeking a Service Center Engineer for our Birmingham, AL regional service center. You will analyze equipment, define repair scopes, and perform failure analyses to return gear systems to full operation.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and hands-on design experience with gears and drives. Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks/CDrafting) and strong communication skills are essential to collaborate with customers and internal teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in design of mechanical drives; co-op and internship experience accepted.
• US citizenship or legal authorization to work in ITAR-regulated environment.

Aufgaben

• Implement customer requirements for repair, modification, or upgrade of equipment.
• Evaluate condition of equipment to determine reusable/repairable/replaced components.
• Define scope of work to return equipment to full working condition.
• Perform failure analysis and create technical reports for customers.
• Provide technical support to suppliers, customers, field service, and customer service.
• Support quality assurance activities and ISO certification.
