  • Proficiency in GD&T and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead creation of equipment layouts, subassemblies, and automation systems with CAD.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to improve design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Maintain Axis standards and customer requirements for performance and reliability.
  • Manage small-scale projects from concept to completion under Engineering Manager guidance.
  • Present technical briefings to customers and stakeholders.
  • Oversee build, assembly, and testing phases, addressing technical challenges.
  • Mentor junior engineers to boost team skills and project success.
  • Conduct risk assessments and design reviews to ensure safety and quality.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve design efficiency and leadership.

Position Title(s):

Mechanical Engineer Level 3

Position Description:

The Level 3 Mechanical Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Controls Engineers, Machine Builders, and Fabrication Specialists to design, integrate, and validate advanced automation systems. This role leverages engineering expertise to develop equipment and subassemblies, interpret technical data, and ensure alignment with customer and company specifications. The engineer will lead small scale projects, provide technical guidance, and support system deployment, requiring a strong foundation in automation, robotics, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation of equipment layouts, subassemblies, and automation systems using SolidWorks CAD, ensuring precision, innovation, and project alignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to enhance design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
  • Maintain compliance with Axis standards and customer requirements, applying advanced techniques to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Manage small-scale projects from concept to completion, managing timelines and team coordination under the Engineering Manager’s guidance.
  • Present clear, compelling technical briefings to customers and stakeholders, simplifying complex concepts into actionable insights.
  • Oversee build, assembly, and testing phases, resolving technical challenges with analytical rigor and handson expertise.
  • Guide junior engineers, offering technical mentorship to boost team skills and project success.
  • Perform risk assessments and design reviews, proactively resolving issues to ensure safe, robust system performance.
  • Assess and incorporate emerging technologies or materials, driving design efficiency and maintaining industry leadership.

Education And Experience Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in mechanical design and automation engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks preferred).
    • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical components, fasteners, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
    • Advanced experience in robotics, pneumatics, and automation system design and integration.
    • Mastery of engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) application.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for technical documentation and analysis.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills to engage diverse audiences and lead discussions.
  • Problem-Solving: Strategic analytical ability with a meticulous focus on detail and system-level thinking.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing projects and guiding teams to meet objectives.
  • Ownership: Take full responsibility for assigned projects and outcomes.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple demands.
