Job summary

Glidewell Dental in Irvine, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to own mechanical design from concept through testing, assembly and deployment for custom automation equipment.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical and controls engineers, apply DFMA principles, perform tolerance analyses, and lead design reviews. Onsite role with a strong manufacturing focus and real-world problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in related field.
• Advanced with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Creates drawings, documents, and BOMs for fabrication.
• Researches new technologies, software, processes, materials, and suppliers.
• Designs tests for development process; analyzes and interprets results.
• Collaborates with Electrical, Control, and build teams.
• Verifies correct fit and function of assemblies.
• Performs stress, thermal, and/or flow analysis using simulations.
• Collaborates with the build team on hands-on prototyping.
• Applies DFMA principles to execute designs.
• Performs tolerance analysis for assemblies.
• Diagnoses machinery issues and implements corrective actions.
• Prepares concepts and layouts for equipment and subassemblies for design reviews.
• Collaborates with management for planning activities.

Essential Functions

• Creates drawings, documents, and bill of materials for fabrication.

• Designs tests for development process; analyzes and interprets results.

• Diagnoses issues with machinery under development to determine and execute corrective action.
• Prepares design concepts and layouts for equipment and subassemblies for formal design review.
• Collaborates with management for planning activities.
• Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in related field.
• Advanced with SolidWorks or similar computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Pay Range: $97,959.90 - $114,286.55/yr

Leveling and actual compensation may vary based on skills and experience.

This role is fully onsite at our Irvine, CA campus. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
