Job summary

RTX seeks engineering interns in Tucson, AZ to design structures and assemblies and contribute to testing and procurement activities. You will perform detailed drafting per ASME Y14.5 and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to mature designs.

The role targets students pursuing Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, entering Sophomore year by Summer 2027, with eligibility for U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

Qualifications You Must Have

This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of Summer 2027. Must be pursuing as bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
• Experience with Creo modeling and drafting
• Experience with Windchill and configuration management

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
