S&C Electric Company, a 100% employee-owned firm, offers a Full-Time Summer 2027 Mechanical Engineer Internship in Wisconsin. Earn $22–$30 per hour (depending on experience) for a 1st shift, Mon–Fri, 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Interns assist in design, prototyping, testing, and documentation to learn from senior engineers.

You will engage in 3D modeling, CAD drawings, basic simulations, and contribute to product development and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• In-progress degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of collegiate Mechanical Engineering coursework.
• 0-2 years of experience in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Basic proficiency with CAD and/or similar tools.
• Familiar with engineering software for modeling and simulation.
• Ability to communicate across organization levels about supply-chain, production, and electronics.
• Understanding of various manufacturing technologies, preferably electronics manufacturing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a collaborative environment.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in quality.
• Ability to balance priorities with internal/external resources.

Responsibilities

• Product Support: assist in designing and developing mechanical systems for current and pre-production projects.
• Simulation & Technical Analysis: create/modify 3D models and drawings; use CAD; basic programming for modeling.
• Design & Documentation: perform basic engineering calculations and simulations; document findings.
• Research & Technology: build and test mechanical prototypes; conduct performance tests under guidance.
• Continuous Improvement: learn product functionality; support root-cause analysis and RMA.
• Compliance: follow company policies and rules.
