Job summary

GBA's Buildings Group in Lenexa KS is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Life Sciences to support design and project teams.

You will prepare construction documents, review drawings, verify codes, and assist with commissioning on bio-pharma projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to deliver high-quality, safe solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and Excel preferred.
• Finished at least two years of school; internships are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction documents for various systems.
• Review shop drawings and RFIs.
• Verify permitting and code requirements.
• Conduct facility evaluations and engineering studies.
• Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Buildings Group at GBA is welcoming engineering students to join our team as interns for Life Sciences Group in Lenexa KS

Life Sciences serves many of the worlds top 20 bio pharma companies

Our Life Science group is a collaborative team of engineers and architects focused on the design of mechanical and electrical systems within the bio pharma industry

Life Sciences offers the opportunity to work within an integrated team of architects engineers commissioning specialists project managers and construction managers

What You’ll Do

• Prepare construction documents for various systems
• Review shop drawings and RFIs
• Verify permitting and code requirements
• Conduct facility evaluations and engineering studies
• Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning
• Perform other fun duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering or other related field from accredited program
• Experience with AutoCAD Revit and Excel software is preferred
• 27 GPA strongly preferred
• Finished at least two years of school
• Prior internship andor related experience is a plus
• Involvement in campus community and other volunteer activities andor organizations
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit stand climb and work on active construction sites for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Comfort working at heights using ladders scaffolds or stairs
