Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, offers a hands-on co-op program for mechanical engineering students to gain experience in Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs) and related building technologies.

Co-ops participate in multiple ESPCs across all stages from development to implementation, working with full-time engineers on energy calculations, CAD documents, and field verification, while developing strong teamwork and analytical skills in a fast-growing ESCO environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have undergrad degree in engineering from ABET accredited university
  • CAD experience is helpful but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Ability to travel locally for field work
  • Minimum GPA 3.39

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of the project development phase – including site visits, building audits, energy calculations
  • Generate energy models and perform calculations to evaluate feasibility of energy savings measures identified
  • Produce detailed construction documents using CAD
  • Assemble organized sets of project drawings and documents
  • Collect and analyze energy data, often involving field verification
  • Work collaboratively with designers and professional engineers to develop all aspects of a project
