Job summary

Crane Co. in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support the existing engineering team onsite. You will perform drafting, 3D/2D design in Inventor, and prepare documentation in line with ISO-9001 procedures.

The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, organization, and collaboration across projects. Responsibilities include generating design concepts, converting 3D models to 2D drawings, and assisting with project scheduling and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• In process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Solid mechanical aptitude
• Drafting and design skills
• 2D AutoCAD and 3D skills essential
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Team member of the mechanical group.
• Complete documentation projects such as drawing replication.
• Generate design concepts in 3D Inventor and convert to 2D.
• Documentation of design, testing, and other project data per ISO-9001 and Engineering Department procedures.
• Prepare project schedule and cost estimates and complete projects on time, within budget, and achieve the anticipated results.
• Plan and execute design and development projects as assigned in accordance with company, department procedures, and business group needs.
• Design for Hazardous Areas, Design for Testing, Design for Manufacturing.
