Job summary

Torus Inc. in Salt Lake City is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to design, validate, and assemble subsystems enabling modular energy storage.

You'll work with experienced engineers across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to learn how design choices affect cost, reliability, and manufacturability. This on-site internship runs May–August, with the possibility of part-time extension up to ~20 hrs/week.

Qualifications

• Current pursuing Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Completed Freshman year (2 semesters).
• GPA 3.0 or higher typically.
• CAD experience with SOLIDWORKS.

Responsibilities

• Build engineering experience by contributing to assembly and design of Torus Pulse and Torus Spin products.
• Learn how energy systems work by partnering with cross-functional teams.
• Develop initial design projects or assembly fixture designs to accelerate manufacturing.
