Job summary

FUJIFILM Sonosite, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III in Bothell, WA to solve complex mechanical design issues for ultrasound systems.

You will design and modify parts using SolidWorks, analyze thermal and stress scenarios, and ensure reliability of RoHS PCB assemblies while coordinating with EE, system, and production engineers. The role emphasizes interfacing with suppliers for manufacturability, contributing to project schedules, and supporting FDA-regulated product development.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering from an accredited institute.
• 4–6 years’ experience in mechanical design with plastics, die-casting, extrusions, sheet metal, thermal management, EMI/RFI shielding.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks; experience with thermal and stress analysis.
• Experience evaluating RoHS-compliant PCB strain/stress issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify highly sophisticated mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Perform thermal and stress simulations and analyses.
• Analyze PCB strain/stress in RoHS-compliant assemblies to ensure system integrity.
• Establish design modifications to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Modify existing mechanical components of ultrasound systems to reduce cost.
• Review and modify drawings to correct quality issues and generate BOMs.
• Work with suppliers to ensure manufacturability of designs.
