Job summary

FUJIFILM Sonosite is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to advance ultrasound systems through innovative design and cost-reduction efforts. You will work with SolidWorks and simulation tools to validate changes, review drawings, and coordinate with EE, system, and production teams to ensure quality and manufacturability.

The role requires 4–6 years of mechanical design experience, and familiarity with FDA/ISO regulated environments. Relocation is possible within the Seattle metro area.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering from an accredited institute.
• Experience with design in injection-molded plastics, magnesium and aluminum die-casting, extrusions, sheet metal, thermal management and EMI/RFI shielding.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks software and 3D drawings.
• Understanding strain/stress on PCBs with RoHS components.
• Experience with generating and reviewing bills of materials.

Responsibilities

• Design/modify highly sophisticated mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Simulate and analyze design alternatives using thermal and stress simulations.
• Perform stress analysis of PCBs and enclosures to assure system integrity.
• Establish design modifications to improve quality and reduce cost.
• Modify existing components to optimize manufacturability and performance.
• Review and modify drawings to correct quality issues.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability.
