Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years engineering experience.
• Associate degree plus 9 years engineering experience.
• Travel requirement of 5-10%.
• Availability to work 7 AM–5 PM, Mon-Fri with flexibility.
• Ability to design mechanical systems for power system products.
• Knowledge of system cooling requirements and detailed calculations.
• Ability to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
• Experience using computer-assisted engineering and design software.
• Ability to conduct field surveys and diagnose mechanical system problems.
• Background check, drug test, and E-Verify work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design for power system products under supervision of an upper-level Engineer or Engineering Team Leader
• Provide guidance to Level 1 and 2 Engineers and Designers
• Convert prototype designs into commercially viable mechanical systems
• Perform detailed calculations for system cooling requirements
• Confer with internal and external customers about existing or potential product designs
• Ensure designs comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
• Inspect completed installations for conformance to design and equipment specifications
• Compile data and write reports for engineering studies and projects
• Contribute to technical manuals
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment
• Guide layouts for mechanical construction projects
• Conduct field surveys and study data to identify and correct mechanical system problems
• Provide mechanical engineering leadership for complex projects with minimal team leader oversight
• Participate in customer and project interviews
• Train technical personnel in areas of expertise
• Perform other related duties as assigned
