Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I for design work on power system products. You will perform mechanical design under supervision, with proficiency in PC use, MS Office, and SolidWorks.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, a related Associate’s degree, and at least four years of engineering experience, with travel and a standard 7–5 schedule. You will collaborate with customers and document analyses and designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Technology.
• At least four years of progressive engineering related experience.
• Travel: 5-10%.
• Work Schedule: 7 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday (may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs).

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed calculations to design for system cooling requirements.
• Confers with internal and external customers to discuss existing or potential product designs.
• Inspects completed installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
• Compiles data and writes reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects.
• Contributes to creation of technical manuals.
• Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Prepares technical drawings and mechanical specifications to ensure that installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements.
• Plans and creates layout of mechanical construction projects with direction from an upper level Engineer.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
