Job summary

Hach Company, part of Veralto, seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to own the mechanical design from concept to production for complex instruments. You will drive robust 3D models, documentation, and cross‑disciplinary integration with electronics, firmware, and software, ensuring manufacturability and cost targets.

You will collaborate with electrical, firmware, software, systems, and project teams in Loveland, CO, and work on-site four days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of mechanical design and product-development experience.
• Experience designing complex electromechanical or system-level products with cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of design for manufacturability and production processes (injection molding, die casting, sheet metal, machining, electronics packaging).
• Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM with release management and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain robust 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and product documentation using SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stack‑up calculations for reliable performance.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes optimizing performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost.
• Turn ideas into learning through prototypes, testing, and rapid design iteration.
• Plan, execute, and interpret verification and validation testing to prove designs meet requirements.
• Integrate mechanical designs with electronics, firmware, software, and optics where applicable.
• Lead root‑cause investigations and corrective actions for design and manufacturing challenges.
• Guide designs through manufacturing transfer, pilot builds, production launch, and sustaining support.
