Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking an experienced engineer to develop and support components, products, and services for market demands. You will perform engineering evaluations, conduct tests, and provide strategic solutions for project optimization.

The role requires collaboration across functions, adherence to global design and safety standards, and participation in process improvements. A BS in engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering design, machine application, mining industry is desired.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools is desired.
  • Experience implementing Lean Engineering principles is desirable.
  • Experience in Change Management implementation is desirable.
  • Experience in cross-functional team assignments is required.
  • Professional registration or membership in technical societies is beneficial.

Job Overview

Perform in engineering projects to develop, maintain and support components, products and/or services per market demands, and for continual process improvements. Perform or conduct engineering evaluations including investigations, fundamental calculations and tests that have well defined requirements and desired outcomes. Provide conceptual and strategic solutions to solve problems associated with engineering projects or evaluations.

  • Participate in effective Change Management to achieve the desired organizational outcomes by successfully changing individual behaviors as needed.
  • Participate in and support programs for effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with global standards for design and safety of products and services, as well as engineering best practices.
  • Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain and support components, products, and/or services.
  • Take responsibility for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of one's self and the organization.

Additional Information

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $82,000-$102,500. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
