Job summary

Marotta Controls in Parsippany, NJ is seeking an Engineer II - Mechanical (Commercial Space Systems) to design products meeting customer requirements across design, test, and material specifications. You will interact with engineers, test technicians, suppliers, contractors, and customers, with occasional travel.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering, 2–5 years of design experience with valves and fluid controls, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years design experience with valves and fluid control devices preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls.
• Strong analytical skills: stress analysis, heat transfer, fluid flow.
• Ability to solve complex mechanical, static and dynamic problems.
• Must be eligible for a security clearance and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate creation of preliminary bill of materials and verify accuracy.
• Create development testing requirements and release drawings for development hardware.
• Monitor customer-driven changes with formal notifications to Contracts Admin or PM.
• Ensure accuracy of all drawings and documents, including tolerance stack-ups.
• Communicate technical and schedule problems to Engineering Manager/Director, Contracts Admin, and PM.
• Supervise engineering assistants and documentation personnel as required.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and company policies.
