Job summary

Scott Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and optimize structural enclosures, busbar configurations, and mechanical components for medium-voltage pad-mounted enclosures and overhead equipment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical and structural systems integrate with electrical systems while meeting industry standards and production deadlines. Proactive leadership and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years mechanical engineering experience in power distribution/manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design, materials, sheet metal manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specs and electrical diagrams to generate detailed submittals.
• Present solutions to customers and stakeholders; obtain seismic certification when required.
• Coordinate structural fabrication, mechanical assembly, testing and installation to meet specs and codes.
• Standardize projects and evaluate engineering change requests.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models in SolidWorks and release designs in PDM.
• Perform structural FEA to validate integrity under various conditions.
• Prepare MBOMs for production and provide factory-level troubleshooting support.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations to integrate electrical systems into manufacturing operations.
