Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to independently apply standard design techniques on small projects or parts of larger projects.

You will own coordination, analyses, and documentation to keep deliverables on schedule and within budget, while ensuring compliance with client and code requirements. The role requires a ABET-accredited engineering degree, a PE license, and experience with Revit/AutoCAD; relocation support is available.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering with four years of applicable design and analysis experience.
• Active Professional Engineer license (PE) in the United States.
• Strong proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with Trace700 and SKM; solid technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on assigned work and assume responsibility for project outcomes.
• Develop design concepts and analyses with input from senior staff; perform design studies using industry software.
• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams; provide technical information for sequences of operation and equipment needs.
• Attend meetings with owners, clients, and architects; document decisions, risks, and action items.
• Review designs for technical accuracy; mentor engineers, designers, and EITs; provide QA/QC feedback.
• Lead or participate in site visits to monitor progress and ensure conformance with codes and specs.
