Job summary

Vectrus, Inc seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN. You will design new products and test hardware for mission-critical DoD programs, and you will collaborate with systems, electrical, test, and production engineers throughout concept to qualification stages.

You will apply 3D CAD modeling (CREO) and GD&T while partnering with vendors and SMEs to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• US citizen eligible for DoD security clearance.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience.
• Experience in design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Proficient with 3D CAD modeling (CREO preferred).
• Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Strong planning, organization and time management.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Design new products and test hardware; improve existing products.
• Support proposal, concept generation, and product development phases.
• Work with production, integration, and testing teams on 3D modeling and fabrication.
• Engage vendors and SMEs to inform design decisions and trade studies.
• Participate in design reviews at part, subsystem, and system levels.
