Job summary

V2X Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN to design new products and test hardware for diverse DoD programs. You will lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and deliver robust mechanical solutions leveraging COTS with custom hardware.

The role requires 8+ years in mechanical design, 3D CAD (CREO), Windchill data management, and strong GD&T knowledge, with on-site collaboration across multiple disciplines and vendors.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance.
• Onsite at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility with an Integrated Product Team
• A minimum of 8 years professional work experience required.
• Experience in the design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred)
• Working knowledge of data management systems (Windchill preferred)
• Proficient in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Self-starter with good time management in a dynamic environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Creative problem solving
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, welding, etc.)
• Understanding of aerospace materials and coatings

Responsibilities

• Design new products and test hardware, and improve existing products.
• Lead design reviews at part, subsystem, and system levels (Peer Reviews, DFMA, PDRs, CDRs).
• Provide hands-on support to production, integration, and testing.
• Develop solutions leveraging COTS with custom hardware.
• Research design decisions with vendors, manufacturers, and SMEs.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with systems, electrical, test, and production teams.
