Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive detailed mechanical design, BOM management, and cross-functional collaboration from feasibility to manufacturing. You will work with hardware, ECAD, and test assurance teams to deliver robust, manufacturable packaging solutions.

The role emphasizes design for manufacturing, reliability testing, and close coordination with thermal engineers and suppliers to optimize costs and performance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 0 years of work experience; or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of work experience.
• Qualifying education and work experience should be in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience executing mechanical designs, simple tolerance stack-up analyses, and feasibility testing for hardware products.
• Hands-on experience with prototype fabrication, assembly, and failure/reliability testing processes.
• Basic understanding of thermal and electrical engineering principles as applied to mechanical packaging and board layout.
• Strong collaborative skills to work across cross-functional teams (Hardware, ECAD, Test Assurance) and manage single-product BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive features from design feasibility through manufacturing.
• Own key aspects of product development: detailed mechanical design, tolerance stack-up analyses, BOM management, and assembly.
• Work with thermal and supplier quality engineers to optimize DFM, perform failure/reliability testing, and define efficient manufacturing processes.
