Phoenix Tailings in Exeter, NH is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to advance next-generation processing equipment from concept to deployment. You will design, build, test, validate, and commission complex mechanical systems that support high-temperature electrolysis, furnace technologies, and innovative electrochemical and thermal processes.

This hands-on role thrives in a fast-paced R&D environment, turning ambitious concepts into reliable hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical engineering exp designing, building, testing, and commissioning equipment.
• Familiarity with V-Model based system development.
• Strong SolidWorks experience with part design, assemblies, drawings.
• Experience developing and executing test plans for verification & validation.
• Able to wear a respirator and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical systems from concept through design, fab, test, and deployment.
• Design and develop processing equipment for high-temperature electrolysis and furnace tech.
• Create 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks to support fabrication and installation.
• Select mechanical components based on analysis and test data.
• Develop verification and validation plans for components and subsystems.
• Drive design-build-test iterations with safety and documentation discipline.
