Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Five years of Mechanical Engineering design experience in mechanical systems, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, and fueling systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation software.
• Knowledge of Chicago Mechanical Code, Chicago Building Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, and related codes.
• Valid driver's license and strong verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design, engineering, construction management, and maintenance support for Metra lines and facilities.
• Prepare design packages with drawings, mechanical equipment specs, and BAS control system details.
• Develop project cost estimates and construction schedules; manage contracts and changes.
• Provide direction to maintenance electricians and outside contractors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and industry standards.
