Job summary

RTX's Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design team seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to join the on-site group in MA. You will contribute to mechanical design, development, and integration of defense platform systems, including shelters, subsystems, and interconnects.

You will model components, manage releases, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust solutions while supporting the product lifecycle from concept to production. Expect travel up to 10% and mentorship of teammates.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to solve problems.
• Experience participating in design reviews and trade studies.
• Ability to manage tasks and deliver on technical, schedule, and cost commitments.
• Hands-on 3D CAD and PDM/PLM proficiency; Creo/SolidWorks/NX preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve change requests from manufacturing or suppliers.
• Develop rework or modification procedures to support product updates.
• Support full product lifecycle from concept through production and post-production.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and suppliers to craft robust solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and close action items; conduct trade studies.
• Manage tasks independently and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
