Job summary

Limbach Facility Services LLC is seeking an Engineer II to provide mechanical engineering expertise for projects, including design, development, and project completion under supervision. This role emphasizes code compliance, field data collection, and collaborative coordination with design and construction teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering, 5+ years of MEP experience, and familiarity with building codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of MEP engineering experience.
• Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools and energy modeling programs.
• Experience with HVAC load calculation methods, duct/piping/plumbing design, energy modeling, equipment selection, temperature control, acoustics, and related mechanical construction."
• Understanding of design activities across architectural, structural, civil, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive to local sites.
• Willingness to work in the local branch office and visit facilities 3–4 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Develops and defines applicable design criteria including code compliance requirements.
• Conducts surveys to gather field data.
• Prepares analyses including design, load calculation, life cycle cost, and equipment selection.
• Creates and interprets drawings, schematics, layouts, and other visuals.
• Coordinates mechanical design with Architects, Structural and Electrical Engineers.
• Prepares technical construction specifications and compliance documentation.
• Manages engineering document production and reviews for standards compliance.
• Coordinates design activities with construction teams.
