Links Recruiting LLC is partnering with a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm to place a hands-on Mechanical Engineer in Shelton, CT. The role supports design and delivery of mechanical building systems at Engineer II/III level, with a production-focused mandate.

The engineer will handle HVAC and plumbing design, calculations, equipment selection, and Revit/AutoCAD production on construction documents, collaborating across disciplines and with clients.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/MEP engineering experience within an architecture/engineering, MEP consulting, or similar building-systems environment.
• Experience designing HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Hands-on calculations and producing engineering drawings and construction documents.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required.
• Working knowledge of applicable mechanical, building, and energy codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering calculations and design for HVAC, heating/cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and related building systems.
• Develop and coordinate Revit models, drawings, construction documents, specifications, equipment selections, and technical reports.
• Coordinate mechanical and plumbing systems with architectural, structural, electrical, fire-protection, and other project disciplines.
• Support projects through design and construction, including field observations, site visits, construction administration, and submittal/RFI review.
• Manage assigned deliverables and deadlines while identifying technical, coordination, scope, schedule, or budget issues early.
• Work directly with project teams, clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors as appropriate to experience level.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are partnering with an established multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical building systems. The opportunity can be structured at the Engineer II or Engineer III level based on experience, technical capability, licensure, and project responsibility.

This is a production-focused engineering role for someone who enjoys doing the technical work directly rather than functioning primarily as a reviewer or manager. The Mechanical Engineer will be involved in HVAC and plumbing design, engineering calculations, equipment selection, Revit/AutoCAD production, drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and coordinated construction documents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform mechanical engineering calculations and design for HVAC, heating/cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and related building systems.


• Develop and coordinate Revit models, drawings, construction documents, specifications, equipment selections, and technical reports.


• Coordinate mechanical and plumbing systems with architectural, structural, electrical, fire-protection, and other project disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Mechanical/MEP engineering experience within an architecture/engineering, MEP consulting, or similar building-systems environment.


• Experience designing HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems.


• Hands-on experience performing calculations and producing engineering drawings and construction documents.


• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required.


• Working knowledge of applicable mechanical, building, and energy codes and industry standards.


• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.


• EIT status is appropriate for developing candidates. PE licensure is preferred for more experienced candidates assuming broader technical and project responsibility.


• The ideal candidate will bring approximately 7+ years of relevant experience; however, strong candidates earlier in their careers will also be considered if they demonstrate strong building-systems fundamentals, Revit capability, and a hands-on, production-oriented approach.

COMPENSATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT

• Base salary range of $90,000-$140,000, depending on experience, technical capabilities, level, licensure, and project/client responsibility. The position also offers a performance-based bonus opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package.

This is a full-time, primarily office-based position. Some flexibility may be available based on individual circumstances, performance, project needs, and manager approval. Periodic travel to project sites, client meetings, or other company locations may be required.
