Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an engineer to design, analyze, and specify mechanical systems for mission-critical facilities, with emphasis on air and hydronic distribution, central plants, and building management.

You will collaborate with customers and project teams to deliver compliant, high-performance solutions. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 2+ years of project experience, and knowledge of ASHRAE/SMACNA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• 2+ years of project-based experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE Handbook and Standards.
• Working knowledge of SMACNA Technical Manuals and Standards.
• FE exam is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with government sites, data centers, and building infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Maintains design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
• Represent the Company in interactions with customers, contractors, suppliers and project team members.
• Perform site surveys, calculations, evaluations, equipment selection and system design for proposals and contracts.
• Develop sustainable designs for high performance HVAC and building systems.
• Produce construction drawings and specifications compliant with contract requirements and codes.
• Address mechanical design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning issues.
• Develop system sequences of operations and compliance matrices.
• Participate in PITCO testing, system programming, and integration.
• Develop project scope and discipline coordination.
• Support project construction, start-up, and commissioning.
• Evaluate new products and provide recommendations.
• Travel up to 25% for short-term assignments.
