Job summary
CesiumAstro in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join our startup-style team developing out-of-the-box hardware for satellites and aerospace systems. You will own mechanical designs from concept through qualification, with emphasis on electronics packaging, CAD, and environmental testing.
The role requires a BS in mechanical/aerospace/related field with 0–2 years of experience, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, AutoCAD), GD&T know-how, and experience with ANSYS or
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 0–2 years experience.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- DFM/DFMA implications of material and process selection
- Knowledge of GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering documentation practices.
- Experience with Engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB, or similar
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components through all development phases.
- Perform thermal management, structural, and EMI considerations.
- Create CAD models and engineering drawings for manufacturing.
- Lead design reviews with customers and leadership.
